"Smith-Schuster saw some run early in the season while Rashee Rice was suspended and again at the end with Rice out for the season due to injury, but he also tallied just four catches for 27 yards over seven games in the middle of the season. The veteran wideout finished with only 33 grabs for 345 yards and one touchdown overall and hasn't hit paydirt more than three times in a season since 2020. Smith-Schuster inked just a one-year deal with KC prior to the season, so he'll head into the offseason looking for another deal, whether with the Chiefs or elsewhere."

"Minshew signed with the Chiefs and is expected to operate as Patrick Mahomes primary backup this season. This will be the journeyman's fifth team in seven seasons and he made multiple starts at each of his prior homes (Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Indianapolis and Las Vegas). Minshew has yet to play a full regular season and his best fantasy campaign was a 19th-place finish in 2019 (he was 13th on a per-game basis in 2020, but only appeared in nine games). Minshew played in 10 games with the Raiders last season, but threw more INTs (10) than touchdowns (nine) and eventually lost his starting job to Aidan O'Connell. Minshew is well off the fantasy radar and would only join the QB2 conversation if Mahomes were to miss time."

"While Minshew avoided a torn ACL, which was the initial fear Sunday, he's been diagnosed with a non-displaced tibial plateau fracture, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It's enough to end Minshew's season, as he'll miss the final two weeks. In the meantime, Kansas City will play out the string on the season with Chris Oladokun and Shane Buechele as its quarterback options."
