"Neal was selected by the Saints in the sixth round of April's draft. He isn't super-fast (4.58 40-yard dash, 1.59 10-yard split), but has decent size and was a solid producer during four seasons at Kansas. That tenure included 760 carries (second most in this class), the second-best elusiveness rating and solid receiving efficiency on 102 targets. Neal is a long shot for fantasy relevance, but the Saints' backup situation seems wide open behind 30-year-old Alvin Kamara. If Neal can overtake Kendre Miller for the No. 2 job, he'll have some sneaky insurance appeal."

"Starting tailback Alvin Kamara (knee) was forced out of Sunday's contest in the first half and did not return. Neal -- who has been operating as the Saints' No. 2 option with Kendre Miller (knee) on IR -- took over lead-back duties and finished with 61 yards from scrimmage on 14 combined touches. The 21-year-old Neal did most of his damage as a receiver with the Saints playing from behind right out of the gate. The sixth-round rookie could find himself in a favorable fantasy situation as New Orleans' starter in Week 13 if Kamara's injury forces him to miss next Sunday's tilt against Miami. Neal is worth a speculative add until more clarification on Kamara's injury rolls out during the upcoming practice week."

"Ewers was selected by Miami in the seventh round of April's draft. He has a good arm, but his 2024 and career passing efficiency was underwhelming across the board. He finished his career (36 starts) with below-average marks relative to this class, despite a conservative 7.8 aDOT and having rarely seen pressure (class-low 24% rate). Ewers was not a factor with his legs (2.0 carries per start in his career). He'll battle Zach Wilson for work behind Tua Tagovailoa."

"The rookie from Texas had served as the Dolphins' emergency third quarterback in each of the team's first six games but was promoted to the backup role in Week 7. Ewers entered Sunday's loss in the fourth quarter, completing five of eight pass attempts for 53 yards. However, his ball-security issues likely contributed to McDaniel's decision to open a competition for the No. 2 QB position, as Ewers fumbled twice on just 12 offensive snaps, though neither were recovered by the defense."
