"Engram signed with Denver after spending his first eight NFL seasons with the Giants and Jaguars. The 2017 first-round pick is coming off a bit of a lost season, as injuries cost him seven games and he found the end zone only once when active. Engram was still heavily targeted (his 25% target share ranked third among TEs) and, even with last season's dud, he has finished top 7 in fantasy PPG in five of his eight seasons. Engram isn't much of a touchdown scorer (he hasn't produced more than four in a season since 2017, but he's joining a good Denver offense led by Sean Payton (who helped Jimmy Graham to three consecutive top-2 fantasy seasons) and impressive second-year QB Bo Nix. Engram remains squarely in the back-end TE1 mix and there's upside for even more."

"Engram said Thursday he feels "the potential is through the roof" for second-year quarterback Bo Nix, per DiLalla, and the veteran tight end projects to be a significant part of the young signal-caller's Year 2 development. Now fully recovered from the hamstring and labrum injuries that limited him to nine regular-season appearances with Jacksonville in 2024, Engram is entrenched as Denver's top tight end above Adam Trautman, and he's staring down a seemingly straightforward path to emerging as the No. 2 option in the passing game behind top wideout Courtland Sutton. Marvin Mims, Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin project as complementary options and are joined by rookie third-rounder Pat Bryant, but Engram is clearly the Broncos' most proficient target outlet for short passes, even if his prime is in the past as he enters his age-31 season. "Josh Allen played the first snap to keep his consecutive start streak alive before turning things over to Trubisky, who connected with Ray Davis for a two-yard TD in the second quarter. Trubisky then gave way to Mike White midway through the third quarter.
