"Austin started the regular season on New Orleans' practice squad and didn't see the field until being called into action Week 10. He went on to play in the final eight games of the regular season, as the Saints' receiving corps was extremely depleted while wideouts Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) were sidelined for the final nine and 11 games of the season, respectively. Austin played at least half of the offensive snaps in all but one of his eight appearances, but he never logged more than three receptions in any of these contests. Instead, wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling and tight ends Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau (knee) all commanded more targets than Austin over this stretch. "Adkins appeared in all 17 games of the 2024 campaign after playing in just 10 games as a rookie in 2023. The 25-year-old tight end's three trips to the end zone ranked him third in receiving touchdowns for the Broncos, behind wide receivers Courtland Sutton (eight) and Marvin Mims (six) and tied with wideout Devaughn Vele. "Hodgins was a sixth-round draft selection by the Bills in 2020. He had a mild breakthrough after joining the Giants midway through the 2022 campaign, recording 33 catches for 351 yards and four touchdowns over eight games. However, Hodgins had since fallen out of favor in New York and spent much of 2024 on the team's practice squad. The 49ers have signed two other veteran wideouts -- Trent Taylor and Russell Gage -- to reserve/future deals following the conclusion of the regular season, and the trio will be given the opportunity to compete for roster spots during training camp next summer."
