"Jones signed with the Colts and will compete with Anthony Richardson for the team's starting job. The 2019 first-round pick struggled with injuries (zero full seasons) and ineffectiveness (career 6.5 YPA) during six seasons with the Giants. After throwing 24 touchdowns in 13 games as a rookie, Jones totaled 45 pass TDs in 57 games the following five seasons. He finished one season better than 15th in fantasy PPG and that eighth-place finish in 2022 was primarily a product of big-time rushing (120-708-7). The 28-year-old isn't going to move the needle as a passer, but if he wins the Colts' gig, he could land on the streaming radar due to his legs (60-plus carries in four of the last five seasons). Even if he beats out Richardson, he'll only be a fringe QB2 and only worth drafting in superflex."

"Jones and Richardson have been positioned to split first-team reps in what looks like a truly open competition for the No. 1 quarterback gig, but the latter signal-caller is now sidelined due to an injury to his throwing shoulder and without a return timetable other than hopefully being back "at some point" in training camp, per James Boyd of The Athletic. That leaves Jones, who inked a one-year, $14 million deal with Indianapolis in March, staring down an opportunity to impress while handling the lion's share of first-team reps in mandatory minicamp, and potentially longer depending on Richardson's recovery. Boyd reports that Richardson's shoulder injury is related to the AC joint issue that ended his 2023 rookie campaign early. While Boyd notes that Richardson's current injury isn't expected to require surgery, this appears to be a situation that could fluctuate. For at least mandatory minicamp, Jones will work to take advantage of the opportunity before him and establish quick chemistry with top wideouts Michael Pittman and Josh Downs, as well as rookie 14th overall pick TE Tyler Warren."

"Cooks reunited with the Saints -- the team that drafted him in 2014 -- after bouncing around the league (four stops) since departing New Orleans in 2017. The former first-round pick has had his stretches of WR2 production (seven of 11 seasons have resulted in a top-25 finish in fantasy PPG), but he hasn't had a finish better than 37th since 2021 and he fell to a career-low 76th in 2024. Now 31 years old, Cooks is expected to slide in as the Saints' No. 3 receiver behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. He'll likely see a handful of targets most weeks, but consistent fantasy output is a long shot, especially with rookie Tyler Shough under center. Cooks is worth consideration only in the late rounds."

"Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the wideout's reported deal is a two-year pact worth $13 million. Cooks, who joined the NFL as a 2014 first-round pick of the Saints, is thus poised to return to New Orleans, where he'll add speed and experience to a WR corps which is led by Chris Olave and also includes Rashid Shaheed. In 10 regular-season games with the Cowboys in 2024, Cooks recorded 26 catches for 259 yards and three touchdowns on 54 targets, but with his looming change of scenery, a bounce-back campaign could be in order for the 31-year-old, with a path to steady snaps seemingly on tap for him in 2025."
